Happy December friends!

This morning my kids were so excited to start their advent calendars. They each have a chocolate one, and my mom always sends us a digital one from Jacquie Lawson that we have loved for years. This year’s is a Christmas village, and we are very excited about it.

Last night we pulled out the first box of Christmas decorations. Buzzy has already started baking Christmas treats, including apple cider caramels and cinnamon candies. We have also been listening to all of our favorite Christmas playlists on Spotify.

Even though we adore our traditions, this year I am looking for small dashes of freshness. I want to sprinkle in new adventures and try new tastes. So, even though this month’s wallpaper is not traditionally Christmas in its colors, I love the way it feels. It is fresh, bright, and full of energy.

Along with leaning into our tried and true rituals, we are excited to try a few new things this season. We are planning to see a Christmas play, It’s a Wonderful Life, put on by the Stampede Troupe. We are hoping to do a winter bike ride on the Colorado Railbike Adventures path. And of course we will be testing a few new Christmas cookie recipes.
