Happy December 1st!
My kids have been anxiously awaiting today because it means they get to start their chocolate advent calendars and begin counting down the days until Christmas. They were binging off the walls this morning. When I started this design, it was going to be a very loud, colorful, bold Christmas piece with bright reds and greens. And the more I worked on it, the more I was not feeling it. And so I started over and ended up with this “edge of evening” artwork. And I think it’s because a deep blue, peaceful Christmas is more what I want this year. Maybe I am getting old, but sitting and reflecting, and just be-ing sounds so lovely. I pulled the blue from an antique book cover. And I just love the intensity of it so much.
So for this month, I wish you peace, quiet reflection time, chocolate advent calendars, and snow.
